I didn't even know I wanted to be in transit, but once I did, I got the bug. I thought it was amazing. I love being able to live a ‘car free’ life. It's pretty awesome.

I was at my university when I was a wee young guy, and we noticed there were no transit options and everyone's driving cars, and that was the only solution. And it was a great university in Montana. There were beautiful mountains everywhere, so you can't build more roads. I was in the student government, and we decided to start a transit operation. We created the office of transportation at the university of Montana in order to bring buses in transit so that we wouldn't have to have more cars and more parking garages. I didn't even know I wanted to be in transit, but once we did that, I got the bug. I thought it was amazing. I love being able to live a ‘car free’ life. It's pretty awesome. And it helped us build more bike lanes and a bike network that was complementary to the bus. We were changing how a lot of people got around. And I just thought that was awesome.
