On my trip to Hong Kong, I noticed that better transit promotes a more active community and vibrant urban culture, which means more street food! That's why I love transit.

I grew up in the suburbs of Los Angeles, and as soon as I was able to, I was driving probably at 15 and a half or 16 years old. Everything I knew was based around the car. I remember my first trip to Hong Kong, and it totally blew my mind. You get out, the weather's disgustingly hot, the streets are all broken, yet so many people are walking. I remember thinking that it was such a vibrant urban culture, specifically, street food. There's something about the density that activates so much street food. I am a very food-motivated person. So for me, I think the reason I love transit is because I want street food everywhere.
