I got involved right after the Olympics in Atlanta in early 1997. My experience during the Olympics, riding the trains and the buses at that time, trying to get to my destination, really kind of caught my eye, and I've kind of had the transit bug ever since then. My role with MARTA is a zone superintendent, so I have a certain zone within the city, which is the west side of the city, and the biggest impact that I've had is actually dealing with the communities. So homeowners association, the community leaders, and so really helping address their needs and wants throughout the system. So that has been very impactful to me because you don't really realize how the communities are dependent on the transit system in their neighborhood. It’s a high stress position, but when you're able to do it, it makes a difference.
