I fell in love with transit, and so I've stuck with it to this day, but I didn't want to be in the operation. I like the planning part, so it's kind of how I got into it, and I've stayed in it.

I've been in transit for 19 years. This baby face does not look like it. I started driving a bus my sophomore year of college, and I worked my way up. I went to graduate undergrad, and then the economy tanked, so I went to school for planning because I love buses. And then I stayed far too long and did a master's in engineering as well. There's, like, the student operated transit system, and there's actually a lot of us here, and we say we have diesel in our veins. They just fell in love with it, and so I've stuck with it, but I didn't want to be in the operations part of it. I like the planning part of it, so it's kind of how I got into it, and I've stayed in it. I like helping the small systems when I can help them better their service for their riders or improve how they're operating it with their contractors and actually seeing something implemented and not just become something on a shelf. Seeing the small guys who don't really have much help or assistance and there's one or two people who do everything and then being able to help them with that.
